Christ My Song - 1229
"Sinner, I am thy salvation"
(Thomas Kelly/Johannes Thomas Rüegg)
"Sinner, I am thy salvation."
"Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation." (Psalm 35,3)
1. "Sinner, I am thy salvation,
thine exceeding great reward;"
sweet, and full of consolation,
are these words of thine, O Lord. PDF - Midi
2. Hearing words like these, I wonder:
words, so far our thoughts above:
when we might expect the thunder,
'tis the "still small voice" of love.
3. He to whom these words are spoken,
all things has, I'm sure of this.
Other promises are broken,
but this promise faithful is.
4. Saviour, speak these words with power,
to my soul, and make me glad;
if thou art my shield and tower,
who or what can make me sad?
5. 'Tis to those alone who fear thee,
that "thy secret", Lord, is known:
they who live in spirit near thee,
know thy voice, and they alone.
Thomas Kelly, Hymns on various passages of Scripture, ca. 1853, Hymn 726.
