To him that sits upon the throne
(Thomas Kelly/Johannes Thomas Rüegg)

To him that sits upon the throne.

"Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb." (Revelation 7,10)

1. To him that sits upon the throne,
  and to the Lamb, be glory given;
'tis here we bow, and here alone,
  and here we join the praise of heaven. PDF - Midi

2. The Lamb is worthy to receive
  the tribute of his people's songs;
by him it is his people live,
  to him it is their praise belongs.

3. Their robes that were so stained before,
  are white as snow, tho' washed in blood –
the blood of him who meekly bore
  their curse, when in their place he stood.

4. The everlasting crown be his,
  whose blood upon the cross was shed –
the Lord, who only worthy is,
  who liveth now, who once was dead.

5. To him that sits upon the throne,
  and to the Lamb, be glory given.
This song be ours, and this alone,
  this song on earth, and this in heaven.

Thomas Kelly, Hymns on various passages of Scripture, ca. 1853, Hymn 233.
